| Sofia Municipal Privatisatin Agency (SMPA) -
administrative body for executing Privatisation of Sofia municipal
property - companies and real estates. The Agency is established
and autorized by Sofia Municipal Council for preparing, realizing
and making control of Privatisation Process in Sofia according
to Transformation and Privatisation of State and Municipal Enterprises
Law. In the world economy Practice this activity is named "small-scale"
Privatisation.In the biggest part, offered for selling real
estates - shops, restaurants, work-shops - are situated on the
ground floor of residential buildings in different disricts
of Sofia. Seldom, there are whole buildings and companies in
Privatisation list. All these sites are very attractive for
investors from small-scale and medium-scale business.
Basic privatisation methods - according to New Law /adopted
in March, 2002/ are: auction and tender.
Sofia Municipal Privatisation Agency is created at the end
of 1992.
